Beam Microsystems has retired.
So this is me doing what I like best -- drinking a flat white and reading the paper.
It seems such a long time ago we were doing video editing, visual effects for a DVD or web video, 3D modelling and animation, web development perhaps with some Flash and a smattering of ActionScript thrown in, perchance some Java programming or even low-level C for industrial process control, scoreboards and sports timing systems.
Formally started in 1979 but initiated a few years earlier, Beam Microsystems was in the forefront of microprocessor hardware and software design.
All now left far behind...
However, never one to let the grey cells stagnate, we are still working with computers and industrial machines but now just as a hobby.
